Seashore Cleanup
Plastic pollution is a pervasive problem that has far-reaching consequences for all of us. It is imperative that we join forces with citizens, governments, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations to effectively address this pressing issue.
ACME Young Leaders Society Seashore Cleanup presents a unique opportunity for individuals like yourself to take concrete action and make a positive impact in your community, alongside your friends, family, or colleagues. By actively participating in a cleanup event, you contribute to the reduction of litter that finds its way into our precious ocean.
By coming together and participating in our seashore cleanup, we can collectively work towards mitigating the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on our marine ecosystems and ensuring a healthier future for our planet. Let us unite in this endeavor, making a real difference in the preservation of our oceans for generations to come.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global program that challenges, empowers, and recognizes young people between the ages of 14 and 24. By recognizing the amazing things young people can do and learn outside the boundaries of formal education, the Award empowers them to discover hidden talents, develop untapped leadership potential and make a difference in their community.
The Award is delivered by adults who work with young people and is used to enhance existing programming. We offer an experiential learning framework that supports the work done to build young people’s skills and develop the confidence they need to take their future in stride. Our program is run in cities, rural and remote areas, through public and private schools, universities and colleges, and a wide range of organizations such as Cadets, Scouts, Girl Guides, Indigenous youth groups, new immigrant support programs, sports clubs, employers, youth detention centres, and community youth organizations.
